Summary

In this role, you’ll provide individualized therapy and counseling that helps residents maintain dignity, improve quality of life, and find comfort and connection through every stage of care. You’ll also be a vital partner to our care teams, ensuring residents receive holistic, person-centered support.

 

 

(LCSW, Psychologist, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted resource for residents: Conduct thorough psychological assessments and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.

  • Provide meaningful therapy: Offer individual counseling for depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, and cognitive changes using evidence-based techniques.

  • Partner across disciplines: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure residents receive seamless, integrated care.

  • Support in times of need: Respond to emotional or psychological crises with immediate intervention and support.

  • Ensure quality and compliance: Keep accurate, confidential records and follow ethical, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Embrace technology: Navigate multiple electronic medical records with confidence and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Current and valid state licensure to practice independently as a Psychologist (Ph.D/Psy.D.), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). 
  • Experience: Previous experience in a mental health role, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting. Experience working with elderly populations and understanding age-related mental health issues is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with residents and families; strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.

 

 

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days notice of this requirement. From that time forward, please be advised that Periodic motor vehicle (MVR) checks may be conducted as a condition of, and/or for, continued employment.
