Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring every paycheck is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy across time records, pay rates, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, garnishments, and other compensation details.
  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records, with a focus on time entry, benefits, deductions, and tax information.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and submission of federal, state, and local payroll taxes in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth data entry for new hires, terminations, job changes, and leave management.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to employee questions about paychecks, withholdings, or adjustments.
  • Manage stop payments, reissues, and corrections when discrepancies arise.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and required filings.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience, ideally in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively across the business.
  • Preferred but not required: Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking.
