Summary

The Director of Data Analytics will be responsible for the design, build, and management of the medical group’s reporting & analytics and supporting data infrastructure. This position will collaborate with IT team members and business stakeholders to identify required data sources to serve the business’ needs.   This role is customer-focused and fast-paced, with a goal to empower the business users with a state-of-the-art platform to rapidly gain insights through data.  You will mentor, support, evolve and grow a group of highly skilled data analysts.  This role will directly report to our VP of Data Strategy and Governance.

The department is comprised of data analysts and data engineers focused on modernizing our data platform and empowering our business stakeholders to make strategic decisions. Teaching, and mentoring, and developing is part of our culture. The goal is to develop a balanced team with expertise in modern data solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directly lead, develop, and empower a team of 3-5 data analysts who build best in class data analytics
  • Understand Curana Health’s business processes, including the role each business unit plays in supporting the company’s ultimate objectives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the company’s EHR, Practice Management, and Population Health data infrastructure and related reporting
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand key value drivers and challenges within their business units and determine the key metrics and insights that can help improve performance as a result
  • Work with stakeholders to understand priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Provide new and creative insights to business leaders through a combination of descriptive and diagnostic analytics
  • Test hypotheses across functions using measurable, statistically significant methods to evaluate best performing strategies
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data to track project performance and important developments
  • Communicate with other IT team members to support and coordinate activities
  • Assist with training end users on acquiring necessary data

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with PowerBi, SSRS, Tableau, Qlikview, Looker or equivalent tools reporting tools
  • 10+ years of experience, with various tools used for data warehousing and transformation including SSIS, SSMS, Azure Data Factory, DBT, DataBricks and\or Snowflake a plus
  • 10+ years in advanced coding languages including SQL, Python and PySpark
  • 7+ years of experience managing a team and leading projects
  • In depth knowledge and experience working with data management and BI strategies, principles and practices including experience with framework for data quality, data governance, stewardship, and metadata management.
  • Knowledge of technology and information systems, with focus on data analysis, data modeling, relational database, and reporting tools including real-time reporting, historical reporting, and advanced analysis.
  • Healthcare experience in Medicare/Medicaid is required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Data & Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field
