Summary

The Vice President of Health Plan Business Development will lead Curana Health’s Institutional Special Needs Plan (ISNP) growth strategy nationally, with a specialized focus on establishing new partnerships with skilled nursing facilities, post-acute care networks, and senior living operators.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of ISNPs and the senior care landscape, particularly within nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, and senior living communities, and can leverage existing market relationships from day one.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national ISNP growth strategy focused on skilled nursing and post-acute care partnerships with direct accountability for goal achievement.
  • Build trusted relationships with SNF operators, post-acute care leaders, and senior living executives to identify mutually beneficial opportunities.
  • Lead the full cycle of business development activities including prospecting, outreach, solution presentations, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Cross functional collaboration with marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless lead generation, contracting, and implementation.
  • Assess partner needs and develop tailored solutions that align with Curana Health’s clinical and financial goals.
  • Represent Curana Health at industry conferences and events to build brand awareness and drive regional growth.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of business development activities using CRM tools.
  • Train, develop and lead small team focused on I-SNP partnership generation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare business development, consulting, or provider/plan strategy—preferably within SNFs or post-acute care.
  • Subject matter expertise with Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (ISNP, CSNP) and other post-acute payment models.
  • Demonstrated relationships with key SNF and senior housing operators nationally.
  • Deep understanding of skilled nursing operations, post-acute care pathways, and value-based care models.
  • Proven success in developing ISNP partnerships with SNFs and senior housing operators.
  • Strong clinical, financial, and operational acumen in the context of health plan operations including the ability to negotiate incentive arrangements and payment models between the ISNP and prospective partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/project management systems.
