Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This role is hands-on and involved in many of the moving pieces within our Medical Group. You’ll support our monthly close, partner with business leaders, and help us understand financial performance across clinics, markets, and joint ventures.

  • Maintain and amortize prepaid expenses, ensuring timely and accurate recording across the organization
  • Complete goodwill amortization entries related to acquired practices
  • Support acquisition accounting by preparing opening balance sheets and related journal entries
  • Prepare and post accruals including provider bonuses, malpractice, and PTO liabilities

Revenue & Healthcare-Specific Accounting

  • Record fee-for-service revenue each month based on reporting and data from operations
  • Track capitation payments and record gainshare outcomes with health plans
  • Support medical group revenue as we continue to expand value-based care arrangements

Joint Venture Support

  • Calculate and record non-controlling interest for our joint venture entities
  • Complete intercompany reconciliations related to joint ventures
  • Prepare recurring financial reporting packages for JV partners, helping them understand financial performance

General Ledger & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, including H.S.A accounts
  • Review financial statements and explain month-over-month variances
  • Identify unusual activity or fluctuations and partner with leaders to understand the story behind the numbers

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, Medical Group leaders, and other teams to gather information and share financial results
  • Help answer accounting questions from leaders who rely on accurate financial data to make decisions

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare is a plus, but not required)
  • Understand GAAP principles and accrual accounting
  • Enjoy working with numbers and people—this role involves a lot of cross-functional conversation
  • Can juggle multiple priorities without losing accuracy
  • Are comfortable focusing on details while also seeing the bigger financial picture
  • Want to continue growing your accounting career in a high-growth company
