As an Inpatient Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, you will provide compassionate, specialized care to patients admitted to the hospital who are living with advanced or life-limiting illnesses. This role focuses on meaningful conversations about goals of care, expert symptom management, and ensuring patients and their families feel supported, informed, and respected throughout their journey.
Facilitate meaningful conversations with patients and families to establish goals of care and ensure choices are clearly documented and honored.
Guide advance care planning, including completion of advance directives and POLST forms.
Provide symptom relief for pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, anxiety, nausea, and other distressing symptoms using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches.
Collaborate daily with the hospital’s interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
Educate patients, families, and hospital staff on palliative care principles, treatment options, and next steps in care.
Exercise autonomy in decision-making, serving as a trusted resource for patients, families, and colleagues.
Maintain accurate documentation in medical records while ensuring compassionate communication at every touchpoint.

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required.
